July 2011 Japan Blog Matsuri

Previously overseen by JapanSoc, the Japan Blog Matsuri is now organized by Japanalicious, and we’re pleased to be the first host of the brand new carnival! This is the third time we’re hosting the matsuri: feel free to read past editions at How to Japan and Education in Japan.

July 2011 Japan Blog Matsuri - Japanese drinks

We’ve recently divided this blog into several topical sections which are almost independent, with different contributors and types of content. One of the new sections is focused at Japanese cuisine and to celebrate the reinvigorating of this part of the blog we’ve decided to make this month’s matsuri about Japanese drinks (and drinking in Japan…)

Ideas

Whether an apéro in baking hot sun, or an ice-cold beer late in the evening, drinks are an inseparable part of summer. This is a much wider topic that is prima facie apparent: you can blog about Japanese tea or saké, review a cucumber or yoghurt Pepsi, teach us some Japanese bar games or drinking songs (飲んで、飲んで、飲んで, etc. ^_^), or even share your very own cocktail recipe inspired by the Land of the Rising Sun. The possibilities are endless!

Guidelines

  • Submissions should be made in accordance with the Japan Blog Matsuri Rules and Guidelines
  • Submissions should have relevance to this month’s theme which is ‘Japanese drinks’
  • The submitted article must contain at least one picture related to the topic
  • The submitted article should contain a link back to this website

You may submit several entries from one blog, and if your entry is really good and on topic, we may accept it even if it was published in the past (but please update it to comply with the guidelines).

If you do not have a Japan-related blog, you can also choose to guest post your entry here at NihongoUp (fully credited, of course).

How to submit

Please ensure that all submissions are made before the 30th July. We really look forward to seeing what you have come up with!
