Splendid springtime giveaway: Win an iPad 3!

It’s been 6 months since the launch of Japanese LinguaLift and whopping 3 years since the very first post has been published on this blog.

Formerly called NihongoUp, the site started as a small personal blog with sporadic tidbits about Japan and the Japanese language, but thanks to you—our loyal readers—we have grown into one of the largest Japan-related blogs, spawned a number of sister language blogs, and created what we believe is the best way to learn Japanese online.

We think it’s time to thank you, who have supported us all these years, and to do just that, we’re giving away a brand new iPad 3 this month! And if that’s not enough, we’re throwing a whole bunch of other cool prizes into the mix.

The best thing about learning online is the resources, the ability to look-up something in a fast and practical way and practice it with anyone, even a native speaker that’s on the other side of the globe.

There are many things I enjoy about learning online:

    1. I can learn when I want, at my own pace.

    2. Where I can study is restricted only by where there is internet access. And let’s face it, there’s internet everywhere.

    3. The interface is smooth, and the learning is interactive, which are things you cannot get from a bunch of paper or an audio CD.

Not to mention that you have access to the web anywhere in the world. (It’s very portable.) Plus with the internet and web growing it’s only right that we should advance with it.

The best part about learning online is the ability to move at your own pace and to be able to put your study materials on your mobile devices. When you’re in a class, you have to learn things at a specific pace and sometimes work past what your brain is comfortable with. Learning online lets you slow that down and prevent yourself from becoming over-worked. It’s also really helpful to have study materials available from mobile devices instead of carrying around multiple books all the time. This lets you study whenever you want, wherever you want.

  • Hira Hasnain (Enamoredsoul)

The best thing about learning online, is that you can learn at any given point in time. If you’re waiting in line, or riding the bus. Also, online learning serves as a better reference point, if you find your in an impromptu conversation with a native speaker, or with someone who may be learning the same language as you. Plus, it opens up the avenue for more dialogue, if you engage conversations on social networking apps, in the language you are learning.

  • Lightenmyload44

Perhaps the best part of learning a language online is the resource of many people all over the world doing the same thing with you.

  • http://twitter.com/seiji_mad_dog Michael Frank

I think the best part is that I can learn without leaving my home. Sometimes I’m tired or it’s just too cold to get outside. I can learn at any time of the day or night, I don’t have to go somewhere to learn it, facing traffic and other stuff that drives me crazy everytime.

  • Aline Lima

The best thinkg about learning online, besides the resources, is the fact that I can do it in my own pace, and I can do it from anywhere.

  • Folusho Ayeni

The best part about learning online is being able to go at my own pace and being able to go back to a lesson if I didn’t quite get it the first time.  I never thought I’d be able to do it, but I  can actually read, write and say words.
